ABOUT THE IBPA BENJAMIN FRANKLIN AWARD™ PROGRAM

Celebrating excellence in independent publishing for 30 years

The IBPA Benjamin Franklin Awards™ are administered by the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) with help from over 150 book publishing professionals including librarians, bookstore owners, reviewers, designers, publicity managers, and editors. Winning an IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award™ expands your marketability and solidifies your credibility. Considering how crowded the book market is today, these are two very powerful things.

ARE YOU READY TO ENTER A PROFESSIONAL BOOK AWARD COMPETITION?

The IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award™ program accepts books published using all business models: traditional, self, hybrid, etc. Regardless of the business model used to produce the book, however, it’s important that the end product meets professional publishing standards.

Prior to entering the IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award™ program, prospective entrants are encouraged to refer to IBPA’s Industry Standards Checklist for a Professionally Published Book for a 2-page checklist of items necessary for the professional presentation of any book.
